You need to be aware of these facts
- Google announced that its My Ad Center will be available worldwide.
- Google’s new Ad Control Hub gives you direct control of how Google presents ads to your data.
- Google also created new pages for advertiser to improve transparency regarding the advertisements it displays to its users.
After announcing it at the I/O 2022 conference in May, Google now has its global ad control center. The “My Ad Center”, which allows users to have direct control of how Google uses their data for personalizing ads across Google Search and YouTube as well as Discover, is designed to give them the ability to make changes to what they see.
You can now choose from many topics to make the Google ads more relevant to your interests. My Ad Center can easily be accessed via the three-dot menu found in Ads that appear on Search and YouTube. There you will be able to manage your ad preferences.
Google gets the information it needs to personalize these ads from Web & App Activity and YouTube History. You can now control which ads you see based on what interests you. You can also disable ads personalization entirely, however, this will lead to less relevant ads.
It is possible to reduce the number of ads that appear on certain subjects, such as gambling, alcohol and dating. Before this, ads could be controlled only on YouTube or Display. This capability is being expanded by Google to Search and Discover. Additionally, sensitive ads can be blocked entirely.
You can set your preferences for ads that are displayed on Google and other platforms. Your choices will also be used by businesses advertising on Google apps and sites.
Google also has advertiser pages. This is to provide transparency and improve the disclosures of ad information. You can access these disclosures in the My Ad Center panel. Here you will be able to view all ads that were run within the past 30 days.
