Smart Home and Health Tech were just a few of the many innovations we saw at CES.

Michael Calore: Fantastic.

Julian Chokkattu: Smart.

Adrienne SoBy God, I won’t be waiting in line for bad coffee for twenty minutes while I rush to make it to a conference. While I get ready and dress in the morning, I will brew it in my own room. When I step out of my tower, I am ready to confront the masses of people. This is truly a game changer. This was the first year where I was just like, “Oh, I am a pro at this. I am fully caffeinated and ready to go.”

Michael CaloreThis is a collapsible pot.

Adrienne So: Yes. This is one of the collapsible silicone pots.

Michael Calore: Nice.

Adrienne So: I did not have to check it, and I was able to use my phone without any problems. The cost was $30.

Michael CaloreIt’s a new concept that I have never heard of.

Adrienne SoIt’s true. When fully compressed it is about 1 inch thick. It can brew just one cup of coffee using an AeroPress.

Julian Chokkattu? And you also brought your own beans to make, I presume?

Adrienne SoI took the coffee, the filters. Actually, it made me feel really terrible. It made me feel bad. But then it was just like, “But then they’d be in here waking me up.”

Michael Calore: Secret’s out.

Adrienne SoI am aware.

Michael Calore: Three CES events have been attended by my AeroPress Go.

Adrienne SoMike, would you consider making a power move for me?

Michael Calore: I meant, that I had subconsciously passed it on.

Adrienne So: No you didn’t. It was subconsciously, no. I think I saw your … Did you bring a Fellow kettle one year?

Michael CaloreIt was actually my Bonavita Swan neck.

Adrienne So“Oh my God.” It’s completely different.

Julian Chokkattu: Wait, what?

Michael Calore: My temperature-controlled swan-neck kettle.

Julian Chokkattu: Wow.

Michael CaloreYes, we had to have recording equipment in order to record our podcast. Now, I have much more compact recording equipment. The second suitcase was no longer necessary so I had to give up the kettle. I’ve just been drinking like … I’ve been drinking plebeian coffee from the coffee shop downstairs. It’s not the bougie Adrienne.

Adrienne So: Yes. Okay, my hack was that the swan neck wasn’t in my carry-on. You can use the travel kettle to collapsible in your bag.

Julian ChokkattuYou might think that kettles ought to be in every hotel room.

Michael CaloreThey ought to be.

Julian ChokkattuThey ought to be.

Adrienne So: Yeah. People do awful things with or to them. Why don’t they have them? We won’t speculate. That’s all I have. I wonder if they would wear them underwear. It’s not clear. It’s how I could be sure you haven’t had coffee. I’m sorry.
