Video teleconferencing tools like Zoom and Google Meet offer the opportunity to link to other meetings. This is an excellent feature. Meta appears to finally have caught up with the trend and has now launched Call Links to WhatsApp.
WhatsApp Call Links are similar to other services. Users can quickly get into a conversation by simply tapping on the link. You can easily create a Call Link from the Calls Tab at the top.
It will be used for audio or video calls. Users can also insert the link in a chat.
How to plan a long-distance call? Want to chat last-minute? WhatsApp has a message in Twitter pos“Now, you can send and create a WhatsApp call link to any person even though they are not part of your contact list.”
Although it is useful, this feature would not have been as helpful during the COVID-19 pandemic. However, better late than never.
It does not appear users will be able to make calls via the link feature.
Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg, in addition to Call Links announced that WhatsApp will be testing encrypted group video calling with up 32 participants. This is a WhatsApp feature that was announced in May along with its community features. It looks like they are finally ready to make it available to customers.

WhatsApp has now made it possible to send and receive links for video and voice calls. This was spotted by Android Policing (opens in a new window).
You can access the feature by going to WhatsApp’s call tabs. The feature is visible now on one of our smartphones, right at the top tab’s window.
WhatsApp’s “Create call Link” button will open and display a pre-set link. You can also copy it, share it with third-party apps, or save it as a link.
