Instant Pot vs. Ninja Foodi – We evaluate the most popular kitchen tools

After publication, prices and availability of deals are subject to change.

Celebrity chefs, influencers and foodies make it all look effortless.

Insta videos are a great way to speed up 20-step recipes and have it appear as quick as microwaved noodles. Antoni Queer Eye is like, “Here, person with no cooking experience, let’s whip up some pork tenderloin canapés over a fire on this casual Tuesday night.”

It doesn’t necessarily have to seem difficult trying to follow a complicated recipe. You don’t need a pressure cooker to make this easy.

This week’s Prime Early Access Sale: Everything You Need to Know

Instead of hoarding a separate countertop appliance for every different cooking method you may need, these multifaceted devices tackle functions from sautéing, to broiling, to cooking a pot roast in half the time (often even less) than a traditional slow cooker requires.

While the Instant Pot (also known as the PCU) and Ninja Foodi might not be the only choices in pressure cookers, they have so many advantages that it’s almost like they own the market. Are These are the only choices. Many articles and Reddit threads have been devoted to the “Instant pot vs. Ninja Foodi” debate. One can’t Google the two without the other showing up in autofill. They are both stars of Black Friday, Prime Day and, most likely, the Prime Early Access Sale.

Only putting them face to face makes sense.

What is the Ninja Foodi like the Instant Pot?

It’s not a “yes”, but it doesn’t necessarily mean that there is a “no”.

Instant Pot was the first to introduce electric pressure cooking. Even though the Instant Pot first model was launched in 2008 the popularity of a single cooking device for all occasions exploded around 2015. People — both seaSoned food enthusiasts and those who only cook out of necessity — obsessed over it so Much so that it seemed like every appliance in the house would share the spotlight.

Ninja made a more quiet entrance into the market in 2018, when it created the Foodi, a pressure cooker and an air fryer that also doubles as a blender. Instant Pot couldn’t offer this combination of kitchen terms at once, so the Ninja was able to do it in one gadget.

It began.

Instant Home and Ninja are always expanding their product ranges to fill gaps in the market and be competitive with each other. In addition to upgrading the pressure cookers of old, Ninja and Instant Home have also expanded their range to include non-pressure cooker air fryers. These can be used for a variety of purposes. There are three big options: the Instant Vortex and Ninja Omni. It’s not at all confusing!

But neither company is dumb — if a new rival cooker comes out with a novel cooking function added to its list of talents, it’s only a matter of time before the other company debuts a new cooker that can do the same thing. Both cookers can perform big tasks like pressure cooking, baking, sous vide, and air frying. They also have presets for cooking things such as salsas, dips, and rice. There’s not really anything that a Foodi can do that an Instant Pot can’t, and vice versa — the real comparison is in variety of models and how much they cost.

Instant Pot knowledge is your best friend. harrowing screenshot One online marketplace’s Instant Pot cemetery might be in your head. Or maybe everyone has moved on from the idea that an Instant Pot can do everything (though it is possible to freeze chicken in just a matter of minutes). Maybe they are upgrading to a more efficient and beautiful Instant Pot. Black Friday will tell. It’s clear to see the impact Instant Pot has had on society in recent years. We’ll watch closely for changes in how this hype evolves over the next few years.

What is more: Ninja Foodi or the Instant Pot?

There is a complicated solution to the Ninja Foodi. The instant pot debate is complicated because each brand releases a new version of their device. You’d be surprised at how often new releases occur for the countertop cook.

A few years back, each of the blind spots they had were mostly covered. For a time, Instant Pot led the way in niche techniques like sous vide or yogurt making, but now multiple Foodis can do it.

They both have an LCD screen, adjustable pressure levels, dishwasher-safe inserts, and all the other expected specifications. Which cooker you should get depends on the appliance features that you want to pay for — and, honestly, which one you think would look slicker on your counter.

The original Pressure Cooker and Air Fry Combination, Foodi, still exists as a true Foodi. It is available in two sizes and retails for $279.99 to $3549.99. The Instant Pot’s starting price is $89, and the maximum cost of this model is $249.99. There are a few options to choose from for a perfect price.

While “Instant Pot”, is just a general term, the recent shuffle in the lineup actually makes it much easier than complicated to differentiate. Instant Home has been consolidated into five main pressure cookers as per the official website listing, although discontinued models are still on Amazon). This preserves versatility while making it easier to compare.

Instant Pot currently offers the most basic model: the 7-in-1 Dualo(opens in another tab) For $99.99, but on sale as low as $49.50 during the shopping holidays, you can get the most advanced model, The 11-in-1 Pro Crisp.(opens in new tab Get it for only $249.95 Between are three models. The differences are broken down here. Every Instant Pot can pressure cook, slow cook, cook rice, steam, sauté, and warm, and as the models level up, more sophisticated features are added, like yogurt making, dehydrating, baking, or sous vide. You can also use the Instant Pot’s WiFi to check progress and start cooking. Ninja doesn’t have a WiFi model — yet.

With 15 PSI the Instant Pot Max stands out. It speeds up pressure cookers even further and can be used for pressure canning. Foodi has a maximum of 12 PSI.

The air-frying models are the ones with the “Crisp” in their titles. If you have an Instant Pot with the separate lid, you can add air frying to any model.(opens in another tab). Non-compatible models that use the lid for the air fryer include the Smart WiFi and Duo Evo Plus 6 as well as the Duo SV and Max 60.

Instant Pots can be purchased in the most popular 6 quart sizes as well as mini models (3 quarts) and 8 quarts (8 quarts). The Foodi is not available in a 3-quart size. Instant Pot Duo Crisp With UltimateLid has an inner pot shorter than the Foodi. It doesn’t need to be lid-swapping for pressure cooking or air frying.

There is little difference in the cooking capabilities of the Instant Pot and Foodi. The best thing about Instant Pot is its variety of price and functionality. Instant Pot models are so varied that they can almost be tailored to fit your needs and budget.

Instant Pot isn’t going to charge you extra if you don’t use all the functions.

The Instant Pot Max was the first Instant pot with a sous vide function, and it quickly became apparent that that is a very important cooking feature. Nearly every model comes with a sous-vide feature. Even the Duo models are equipped. Instant Pot is able to provide sous vide ready options that Ninja doesn’t.

Instant Pot now has the ability to eliminate air-frying gaps that were once a significant disadvantage. Instant Pot offers several crisping models. The lids can be purchased separately. This is nothing extra when compared with the Foodi’s latest model, which comes with a very similar lid. A better way to defeat the Foodi is to have the lid fully removable, rather than using hinges which are always annoying about the Foodi. This is a small point deduction.

Duo Crisp with Ultimate Lid has the closest design and function to classic Foodi. It makes sense therefore to compare the two. Although Instant Home upgraded to 6 quarts, the additional cooking space doesn’t make it as efficient as Ninja. The Instant Home only has one rack, which allows you to cook up two layers simultaneously. Ninja’s rack is double-tiered and can hold three layers.

Ninja has worked on its TenderCrisp technology longer than Instant Brands. Anybody who cares about balanced browning will feel more at home with Ninja.

For people who roast a lot, the One Foodi model is a great choice. Foodi Smart XL, $349.99 comes equipped with a thermometer. This is compatible with Smart Cook’s Smart proteins settings.

Ninja uses its 6.5-quart size better than Instant Pot. Two-tiered racks allow for three layers of cooking. You could sear your steaks or 4-pound chicken on the bottom while cooking two side dishes above it — no need to keep up with three separate dishes on the stove or in the oven.

The Foodi’s original design was a masterpiece. While the original models resembled Pokémon and took up more counter space than necessary, the latest Ninja Foodi XL sheds the huge side panels and adopts a clean-cut stainless steel design. This Instant Pot is more expensive and it looks just like one.

You have fewer options to customize your cooker’s size and function. There are only one Pressure Cooker, despite the fact that there seem to be 20 Foodi models. There’s less clear scaling up in terms of what each model can do, and cookers that are dedicated toaster ovens or air fryers are still just called the Foodi — just with “XL” or “Deluxe” tacked onto the end. You can only get the true pressure cooking model in either 6.5 quarts of 8 quarts.

An Instant Pot can be purchased for $50 or less if there are six appliances you use. But if you want to spend $279.99, or $30 or $40 less if it’s on sale, the Foodi will cost you $279.99. The Foodi’s high price tag and lack of a stainless steel insert is a shame. While ceramic may not be as fragile than Teflon but it is reported that the metal rack can chip. People don’t like their food being covered in plastic for long periods of time.

Verdict: This is a no-brainer

Multicookers reduce cooking time, and make it easier to find the perfect consistency for recipes. Each has undergone aesthetic improvements that have made them chic and modern. The decision between an Instant Pot or Ninja Foodi comes down to your ability to use the cooker. Groundbreaking statement — you’re welcome.

Ok, that’s it! Are Here are some caveats. First, consider whether you are interested in air-frying. A basic Instant Pot with a lid is cheaper than the Foodi, which all air fry. Both cookers are great options if air frying is something you value. Both cookers impress with their speed and crispiness, so you don’t have to worry. You may be deciding which model looks better, but the Foodi could also win because it offers three layers cooking.

Foodi is the perfect choice for meat-with-everything-meat lovers. It has nine adjustable doneness levels, and it even comes with a smart thermometer.

A non-Ultimate Lid Instant pot that includes removable lids is better for you if there are low hanging cabinets over your counter. Crisp models will also work well if you like to air-fry. Justice for low-hanging cabinets

Instant Pot, the only app with WiFi connectivity that allows you to monitor the progress of your food and control it from anywhere you are not at the counter is what you need.

Instant Pot’s wide range of models might be enough for it to keep up with the competition. Pressure cooking and air-frying are easier to do because you can customize your features at a price that suits you.
