Samsung Unveils Exynos Modem with 5G Connectivity

5G is on its way for 2019 and 2020. 5G will bring along faster speeds and will enable a much higher bandwidth rate. 

Samsung has announced they have created a 5G cellular modem chip with Exynos Modem 5100.

    • 3G – HSPA, TD-SCDMA, WCDMA

    • 8CA (Carrier Aggregation) in 5G NR up to 6 Gbps (mmWave) and up to 2Gbps (Sub-6GHz)
    • 8CA (Carrier Aggregation) in LTE up to 1.6 Gbps
    • 4×4 MIMO

    • Up to 256-QAM in sub-6GHz
    • Up to 64-QAM in mmWave

The Samsung Exynos Modem 5100 will be available at the end of 2018 so we should start seeing this modem implemented in consumer devices sometime in 2019.
